Destination Wedding In Barbados

As a Richmond, VA wedding photographer, I’m soo lucky to work with some of the most intentional and joy-filled couples. Bethanie and Sean are the perfect example. They are long time clients and friends, and invited me to capture their destination wedding in Barbados. I couldn’t say yes fast enough!

They brought their closest family and friends for a weekend full of sunshine, ocean views, and unlimited drinks. Every moment of their day was carefully chosen to reflect who they are as a couple — laid-back, fun-loving, and deeply connected. Their wedding was less about obligation and more about joy, love, and meaning.

The ceremony took place on a breezy rooftop (hello, dreamy photo conditions!), followed by portraits and a sunset beach reception. From happy tears and barefoot dancing to a surprise bird during their first kiss — their day couldn’t have been more perfect!

Bethanie told me she chose me because my photography feels natural, real, and authentic — not stiff or overly posed. That’s exactly how I work. I give gentle direction during portraits, but I’m mostly there to document your real moments so you can focus on what truly matters: marrying your best friend.

Some favorite memories: Bethanie’s orchid bouquet, getting ready with her mom and best friend, portraits in the hallway (yes, right next to the elevator!), sweet, blissful hugs post-ceremony, her crew fluffing her dress, and their first dance in the sand. They ended the night, trash-the-dress style, by jumping into the pool! What a send off!
