Family and Fur Baby Film Photo Session in Richmond, VA
As a Richmond, VA family photographer I have the immense privilege of documenting every season of life - from celebrations of life, to the tender endings. There’s a lot that isn’t fair about life. One of the main factors being - our fur babies don’t live forever. As a photographer in Richmond, VA, one of my greatest honors can be documenting you and your loved ones, with two feet or… four. We are always taking cute photos of our puppies smiling, or or kitties’ beans, but we can often forget to be in the photo with them.
This recent in-home session with my sweet friends Samantha & Jay was deeply personal. They’ve entrusted me with many photoshoots before (including their vow renewal!), and with a recent health diagnosis for their sweet boxer Moxie, I got to their place as fast as I could.
I love documenting families with children, but fur babies hit close to home for me. As a proud & happy (childless) mom of 3 kitties - they are my world! We unexpectedly lost one of our kitties in 2022, and having photos to look back on with him helped me grieve, remember, and hold his love close.
We take countless photos of our pets - smiling pups, curled up kittens, those irresistible toe beans!!! But, we forget to get in the frame with them. That’s what makes these family and pet photo sessions so powerful. Whether it's in your living room or your favorite Richmond park, these real, tender moments matter.
This session with Moxie and Norah was photographed entirely on 35mm film. Directly from my camera and eye, to you. No editing, directly from the lab to your gallery.
